All of our communities give our seniors a better quality of life!
Choosing an assisted living community for your loved one requires careful consideration. We all want a place where they will be comfortable, safe, and cared for. Before deciding on an Assisted Living facility, it’s important to know the personal preferences, budget, and community standards of your loved ones so you can have a guide and make the best choice with them.
When visiting a facility, be sure to look out for the factors below, and don’t be afraid to ask the staff questions!
Living Spaces
Your aged loved one may prefer their own space so you can consider a private room for them. If they enjoy the company of a roommate, you can also check for accommodations that have semi-private rooms.
Most communities have cleaning and laundry services. Ask the staff if the cleaning are an add-on or if they are already provided in the routine services.
Medical Assistance
Many of our aged loved ones may still need medical assistance on an as-needed basis. Make sure you disclose specific health concerns you have so the facility can help address them.
Finding a community with mental health support is also a plus for your loved ones’ well-being as they age.
Activities
Look at their activity calendar and see if the activities will be interesting to your loved one. Ask if they’re also open to creating new activities to see if they can cater to other residents' interests.
Considering the age of the residents is also important as this will make it easier to socialize for your loved one.
Finding the best community for your loved one can be a daunting task with all the factors you need to consider. To us, the best community is the one that can promote the quality of life of our elderly loved ones’ so we, too, can have a peace of mind.
